What are the places that make Milan such a great place?
Where are the most worthwhile museums? And what to do if you don't just want the art.
Here is a list of attractions in Milan that you must see:
The Milan Duomo
At the heart of the city, sits its unmissable pearl - the Duomo, Milan's main cathedral. Some claim that the Milan Duomo is the most magnificent of the Gothic churches in Italy, and in any case, few critics would not identify with the phrase "breathtaking."
The huge building, which can accommodate 40,000 visitors, is wrapped in glittering marble on its front, made of thousands of figurines, turrets and decorations. In fact, you can only spend an entire hour looking around the building and looking at its small details, or watching it from its southern side, from the courtyard of the Royal Palace, Palazzo Reale.
Inside the church you can enjoy a wealth of points of interest: from the spectacular stained glass windows that change in the nature of the era, through the statues depicting key moments in Christian life and the city, to the nail that stands above the altar and is shown to the public once a year, who claim to be part of the original cross of Christ.
Tip: By no means do you miss the climb to the Duomo roof. The sight of the city, and the roaming of the turrets and statues (including, of course, the statue of the Madonna, the saint protecting the city), is well worth the climb of more than 150 steps, but there is also an elevator.
• Address: Piazza del Doumo
• Opening hours: Open daily from 8am to 7pm (Entry until 6pm) The attic is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sometimes changes by winter and summer and should be updated on site.
• Price: Entry to Duomo, Museum and Crypt: 2-3 euros. Elevator Roof: € 7-13. Pilgrimage: 4.5-9 euros.

La Scala Opera House
The Teatro alla Scala Opera House is the world's best-known opera house, although you may not know it from the outside. The exterior is fairly simple (in European terms), but the picture on the inside is quite different: the grand theater in Europe is wrapped in the grandeur of red and gold, and its entrance creates a sense of belonging to the European nobility.
Tip: Even if you don't get the chance to watch the show, you can visit the theater by visiting the theater museum, whose entrance is adjacent. You can enjoy interactive activities or join a guided tour of the museum. If there are no rehearsals when you visit, you can enter one of the chambers and see for yourself this wonderful splendor.
Address: Via Filodrammatici, 2
Opening Hours: The Museum is open daily from 9 am to 5:30 pm (last entry: 5 pm), closed in December 7, 24-26, 31 (on December 7 and 24, only closed in the afternoon), and January 1, May 1 and August 15
Price: 6-9 euros for the museum. Children under 12 enter for free.
